UTC Aerospace Systems is one of the world’s largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defence products.  They design, manufacture and service systems and components and provide integrated solutions for commercial, regional, business and military aircraft, helicopters and other platforms.  They are also a major supplier to international space programmes.

The main aisles and walkways throughout the factory needed to be replaced and IRL carried out this work in several phases using a FeRFA Type 5 Sikafloor 263 Flow Applied Self Smoothing Epoxy Resin System.

This product is a two part, economic, multi-purpose binder based on epoxy resin with a good chemical and mechanical resistance which is ideal for medium to heavy duty use such as in this facility.

There were not any difficulties or fundamental issues with the works, other than it was a relatively tight programme with works being carried out over back to back weekends.  The Client’s Representative was pleased with the work and IRL’s management of the project.
