Electrostatic Dissipative Self-Smoothing System
IRL have just successfully completed an area of 3710 sq metres of Electrostatic Dissipative Self-Smoothing Flooring for the Automotive industry within an immensely tight timescale of just 6 days.
The project brief consisted of:-
Strict protection to eliminate any dust by erecting a polythene screen from Heras fencing.
Diamond grind with triple head machine with vacuum attachment to remove any risk of dust ingress to adjacent production areas.
Apply Sikafloor 161 primer
Copper tape grid
Sikafloor 220W conductive primer
Sikafloor 235 ESD Self Smoothing Epoxy at 1.5mm.
Sikafloor 235 ESD is a Decorative and protective dissipative self-smoothing system for concrete or cement screeds with normal up to medium heavy wear. Particularly suitable for areas with requirements for a low electrostatic charge (Body-voltage) and dissipative surface.
Typical applications include industries that process, assemble, install, package, test or transport, such as clean room, pharmaceutical, automotive industries etc.

The project consisting of three separate areas was to commence on the Saturday and be fully cured by the following Friday.
It was imperative that we did not restrict or impede the activities of the Employer. All gangways, access routes and delivery areas were to be kept clear at all times.
All areas were satisfactorily tested on completion. We were able to provide a dissipative Self Smoothing System to our client thanks to our skilled and dedicated workforce, who time after time, produce excellent results.
