Orwell Truck & Van formerly Orwell Trucks, was founded by David Grant in 1991. The company quickly grew in size and reputation with 4 branches located in Ipswich, Colchester, Norwich and Newmarket. Orwell Truck & Van specialises in the sale and maintenance of Mercedes-Benz and Fuso Commercial Vehicles and has a team of over 200 employee's across the group.
IRL were approached to carry out Resin Coatings to AFT Bay and Workshop at their Newmarket Branch.
The existing concrete slab was prepared by a suitable combination of dust free vacuum shot blasting having its own lorry mounted independent 3 phase power supply, diamond grinding and STR light mechanical abrading containing all dust and debris in sealed containers. Followed by the application of two coats of FeRFA type 3 solvent free high build epoxy resin with a Life Expectancy of 2-4 years and two coats of line marking resin to pit surrounds. Sikafloor 264 was the system chosen.
Sikafloor®-264 is a two part, economic, solvent-free coloured epoxy resin, its uses being:
• Coating for concrete and cement screeds with normal up to medium heavy wear e.g. storage and assembly halls, maintenance workshops, garages and loading ramps.
• Seal coat for broadcast systems.

A number of years ago as a member of FeRFA, we committed to playing our part in halving the amount of construction and packaging waste going to landfill.
