Description
As part of the factory refurbishment at the prestigious Formula One team in Northamptonshire, we were asked to apply a factory floor surface which would resist engine chemicals, have excellent abrasion resistance and be easy to clean.
In addition to these qualities the floor, had to be aesthetically attractive and capable of maintaining its good looks.
We were also charged to ensure that the client could still manufacture and supply components to the team, throughout the contract period, with the minimum of disruption.
The floor was laid in phases to suit their manufacturing requirements.
This took place over a period of six months and at the end of this time we were able to hand over a floor that fulfilled all the criteria specified.
The concrete floor was cleaned and treated with an epoxy primer, followed by the application of a self-smoothing screed.
The resulting durable surface is an attractive mid-grey colour that will remain easy to clean and not wear away. We have ensured that the colour of the whole floor blends in despite the phased application.
