Description
Following the successful completion of the Resin Flooring to building 157 at Chetwynd Barracks in 2010, IRL Group were the contractor of choice for Resin Screed,
Cove and Anti-Slip Coatings to the Ground, 1st and 2nd Floor Ladies Shower Bases.
The existing ceramic tiled floor was looking tired and causing a hazard due to its lack of slip resistance our solution was to diamond grind the floor tiles containing all dust and debris in sealed containers and prime with Reeprime EP550 epoxy primer.
Reetop ES006 Epoxy Resin Screed was then applied over the tiles to an average thickness of 5mm.
The screed was finished off with two coats of Reeseal TG700 solvent free epoxy resin coating broadcast with a quartz aggregate to provide an anti slip finish.
With a slip resistance of above 40 but below 55 a 50mm radius cove skirting completed the finish.
IRL’s Foreman Nigel Abell completed the works in the two week timescale given to enable other trades to complete the cubicle walls.
Steven Robinson from Babcock Support Services was delighted with the end result.
